AI hiring that ranks CVs and grades proctored tests, with 1,500+ candidates assessed

SkillMatch is our own hiring platform. Companies post a job, AI ranks each applicant's CV against it, and candidates take proctored tests that are graded automatically. More than 1,500 candidates have taken over 4,000 assessments.

The challenge

Hiring teams get more CVs than they can read, and keyword filters miss people who describe the same skills in other words.

Take-home tests are easy to game, and grading them by hand takes engineers away from their work.

Our approach

Ranking by meaning, not keywords

CVs and job descriptions become embeddings in MongoDB Atlas Vector Search, and a model scores each CV against the job.

Tests that grade themselves

Multiple choice, coding, React, open-ended and short-answer questions are graded automatically. Coding answers run in a self-hosted Judge0 sandbox.

Proctoring built in

Webcam snapshots, tab switches and fullscreen exits are recorded, with settings for each assessment.

What we built

  • Job posting with AI-enriched job descriptions, and applicants ranked by how well each CV fits the job.
  • CV upload that fills in the candidate profile, plus a CV builder with templates.
  • An assessment builder with AI-generated questions, automatic grading and PDF result reports.
  • Interview scheduling with Google Calendar, team roles and permissions.
  • Plans and billing, an SDK for companies' career pages, and an admin console.

Security and quality

  • Coding answers run in a self-hosted Judge0 sandbox, apart from the main servers.
  • Proctoring is set per assessment, so each company chooses what is recorded.
